George King, Ph.D., associate professor and interim chair of the Department of Kinesiology, has been appointed associate dean of the College of Health Sciences, effective June 1.
King joined UTEP in 2001. He has served as director of the Human Performance Laboratory and as graduate adviser, and in leadership roles with the Faculty Senate, Graduate Council, Institutional Review Board for Research for the Protection of Human Subjects and co-chair of the College of Health Sciences Faculty Annual Merit Review processes.
As associate dean, King will lead efforts to promote and evaluate academic program enrollment, conduct curriculum reviews and monitor program and student outcomes. He also will assist with the coordination of college academic personnel recruitment, compliance, development and evaluation processes.
