Organizers of this summer’s Conference for International Research on Cross-cultural Learning in Education (CIRCLE) at UTEP have tried to capitalize on the interest in politics around the world from the upcoming presidential elections in the United States and Mexico to the Occupy Movement and the Arab Spring. The two-day conference, with its theme of “Democracy, Education and Diversity: Learning Across Borders,” has generated more interest than usual from the numbers of people who have pre-registered and those who want to make presentations. More than 350 people are expected to attend.
With presenters from a host of different countries in the Western Hemisphere, the 6th CIRCLE conference hopes to foster the idea of democracy via education. Information: http://coe.utep.edu/conferences/circle/
