Power restored to The University of Texas at El Paso campus

Update: 11:29 a.m.

Power has been restored to The University of Texas at El Paso campus. By noon, the campus will be fully operational and the University will operate as normal the rest of the day. Courses that start at 11:40 a.m. will take place as scheduled.

El Paso Electric officials told University officials one of their electrical feeders failed, causing the power at UTEP to go out shortly after 3:30 a.m. this morning.

Earlier update

The University of Texas at El Paso will be closed until noon today, June 19, due to an early-morning power outage. Morning classes are cancelled and University offices are closed this morning.

The University expects to resume normal operations by noon today.

All P3 community enrichment classes and summer camps are cancelled for the day.

We expect to receive updated information around 11 a.m. and we will update the status of the campus shortly after that time.
